Seeing as how I am expecting a sweet bundle of joy here soon, I did not want a huge job with the PTA next year, but I did want to be on the executive board. I like to be 'in the know' and involved. I thought the best way to make sure I ended up in the right place was to be on the nominating committee.
I love going to a meeting and the person or persons who are running the meeting have their stuff together. I showed up for the first meeting and Beth (Ryan) was totally prepared. She was A-1 ready to go. She had the list printed up of what positions we needed to nominate for and the persons who had filled in their interests for the coming year.
In a matter of an hour, we had filled over 25 positions, made over 30 calls with 4 phones and even got to eat our lunch! There is just something great about meeting for a reason and actually accomplishing it. Proficiently. Gotta love it!
